Our journey begins with the rich legacy of our cobbler community, renowned for their exquisite handcrafted embroidery. For generations, the women of our community practiced the art of hand embroidery on leather, while the men skillfully crafted shoes from the same embroidered leather. This unique embroidery, known as cobbler embroidery, adorned not just shoes but also bags, belts, and even horse saddles.

In 1990, the establishment of a village hotel, Rohatgarh, marked a significant turning point. Tourists from India and abroad flocked to Rohatgarh, drawn by its rustic charm and the opportunity to experience our cultural heritage firsthand. Many of these visitors would visit our homes and marvel at our handmade items, leading to a pivotal suggestion – to apply our intricate embroidery to textiles.

Embracing this idea, we began creating embroidered bed covers, cushion covers, curtains, wall hangings, table covers, and an array of other decorative items. The response was overwhelming, affirming our belief in the beauty and appeal of our craft. Today, our embroidery showcases a diverse range of designs – from elephants, horses, and peacocks to kings, queens, and intricate natural motifs.

At KeshavCrafts, we are not just artisans; we are a community dedicated to preserving our cultural heritage and empowering our people. Through the MSME program of the Government of India, we provide meaningful employment opportunities to the women of our village, ensuring that our craft thrives while contributing to the welfare of our community.
